Indeed I am quite surprised that many are not supporting Asamoah Gyan in his surprise move to Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates. Many soccer pundits argue that he is young and could have still made waves in Europe where the hottest soccer action is.
My take is that,
had a very good offer, an offer that he may never get in the European league. Why pass it by? He was in Sunderland not because he loves Sunderland so much but because he had to make money. All his colleagues from Ghana, Muntari and John Mensah, had just been dropped from the Sunderland team. He was on special training because the coach felt he had to sharpen Asamoah’s skills. All well and good. The question is why does he shine for Ghana and not so much for Sunderland? Well I do not think Baby Jet was very happy in the team.
